Specialists, merchants and enthusiasts can count on a broad and varied selection that includes precious incunabula, unseen manuscripts, and ancient and rare editions on the most varied subjects: from heraldry to geography and travel, from music to theatre, from calligraphy to science and medicine, not to mention fine examples of engravings and bindings. Notable examples among the rare editions handled by Aste Bolaffi include the first edition of Somma di arithmetica, geometria, proporzioni e proporzionalità by Luca Pacioli, which sold for 528,000 euros in 2014, a world record for the edition and the highest earnings from a printed volume at an Italian auction.
