From 24 to 27 October, at the Auto e Moto d’Epoca fair in Padua, Aste Bolaffi will present a preview of its upcoming Classic Cars, Youngtimers & Memorabilia auction scheduled for Friday, 15 November at Garage Bolaffi in Turin (Corso Verona 36/E).
At the Aste Bolaffi stand (hall 15), some of the most representative lots in the catalogue will be on display, including: Castagna Coachbuilder’s one-off WoodyWagon, 4x4 Fiat 500 with “giardinetta” type bodywork, the 2013 “50th Anniversary Edition” of the Porsche 911 designed to commemorate the 50 years of the legendary model, produced in only 1963 specimens and the only one in pastel black, and the Lancia Fulvia Rally 1600 HF “Fanalone”, a car which has never been modified and has never taken part in races. A preview of the "Car design: fragments" section, which proposes design drawings, including some sketches by Paul Bracq, Giugiaro's Lancia Delta drawings and Zagato's Junior Z project, will also be displayed.
The “Car design: fragments” section (lots 1-60), containing design models, drawings and sketches, opens the auction catalogue. Among these lots four sketches by Paul Bracq, Giugiaro's drawings of the original two-door version of the Lancia Delta, the front view of the ASA 1000 signed “Lello Gandini”, the Zagato Junior Z designs, as well as sketches by Giovanni Michelotti, Pio Manzù and others particularly stand out. The top lot of the section is the 1:1 scale model of the Ferrari Rossellini, Castagna’s project for a super sports “barchetta” produced on the mechanics of a 550 Maranello (lot 60, estimate 10,000-20,000 euros).
In the important selection of cars (lots 61-97) Aste Bolaffi, as is generally the case for the autumn auction, favours the youngtimers, ranging from the Seventies to the instant classics. In the large selection of Porsches the 2013 “50th Anniversary Edition” of the Porsche 911 designed to commemorate the 50 years of the legendary model, produced in only 1963 specimens and the only one in pastel black (lot 91, estimate 140,000-160,000 euros), a 911 Speedster Turbolook (lot 97, estimate 165,000-185,000 euros) and a 911 GT2 MK1 (lot 94, estimate 130,000-160,000 euros) stand out.
Among the Mercedes, a Mercedes Benz 500 Sec Amg Widebody stands out, having become a real cult object, unique on the Italian market and one of the very few in Europe (lot 81, estimate 55,000-80,000 euros).
Among the other top lots of the auction there is a Lancia Fulvia Rally 1600 HF "Fanalone", a car that has never been modified and has never taken part in races (lot 96, estimate 100,000-120,000 euros), a Lancia Delta HF Integrale Martini 5, a limited series that is highly sought-after by collectors with consistently increasing estimates for the best preserved specimens, such as the one in the catalogue (lot 95, estimate 130,000-160,000 euros), a 2000 Fiat Dino Coupé, an example of the rare model designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone Coachwork’s (lot 87, estimate 40,000-50,000 euros), a BMW B3 S Cabriolet manual Alpina, the only one in Italy (lot 67, estimate 30,000-35,000 euros), a 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth (lot 71, estimate 35,000-50,000 euros), a Golf GTI MK1 “Fioriserie”, a unique car on the Italian market that is a symbol of the Eighties (lot 74, estimate 25,000-30,000 euros).
Among the Alfa Romeo selection there is a 2000 GT Veloce from 1973 (lot 86, estimate 40,000-50,000 euros) and a GT1300 Junior from 1966 (lot 68, estimate 25,000-35,000 euros).
It is also important to note the presence of two Castagna Coachbuilder’s one-off cars: the WoodyWagon, 4x4 Fiat 500 with “giardinetta” type bodywork, a one-of-a-kind, unique model of great collecting importance (lot 84, estimate 45,000-55,000 euros) and the Capri, a re-interpretation of the historic Spiaggina (lot 83, estimate 25,000-35,000 euros).
In the catalogue there is also a special lot: a 1993 Fiat Panda 4x4 Trekking that belonged to attorney Gianni Agnelli, with his name listed as first owner on the vehicle’s registration, with customized interiors from Garage Italia with Vitale Barberis Canonico fabric (lot 75, estimate 20,000-30,000 euros).
Three “barn find” cars for sale without a reserve enrich the catalogue. These include a 1980 Talbot Sunbeam Lotus 2.2, an icon for rally enthusiasts that lends itself perfectly to being restored or prepared for historic rallies (lot 88, estimate 10,000-15,000 euros), a 1966 Fiat 500 Moretti Coupé, a small custom-built car designed by Giovanni Michelotti for Moretti Coachwork’s (lot 62, estimate 3,000-6,000 euros), a 1984 Autobianchi A112 Junior, a true 6 series in the cheekiest outfitting of the most successful hatchback in Autobianchi history, with its original number plates (lot 61, estimate 2,000-4,000 euros).
