Charity auction at Lanificio di Torino on 7 May
Two big local players team up for charity. On 7 May, Lanificio di Torino (via Bologna 220, Turin) will host the charity auction organised by Fondazione Time2, the Turin-based organisation founded by Antonella and Manuela Lavazza that aids disabled young people in the Piedmont region, with operational support from Aste Bolaffi, the auction house of Gruppo Bolaffi, leader in collecting since 1890.
The charity auction includes a selection of antiques to suit all budgets, including Chinese porcelain, wooden furniture, leather-upholstered chairs, various curiosities and modern collectors’ items, offered without reserve price, which the owners have donated for sale to raise money for charity.
The entire proceeds will be donated to Fondazione Time2 to fund its sports and educational activities.
The event will be held at the Lanificio at 12 noon on Sunday 7 May. The antiques will be on show to the public on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 May (10:00-18:00 hrs) and Sunday 7 May (10:00 to 12:00 hrs). The auction itself will start at the end of the viewing period. To take part, bidders only have to turn up on the stated day and time.
“We’re very grateful to Aste Bolaffi for this splendid project,” declares Samuele Pigoni, General Secretary of Fondazione Time2, “which combines a love of antiques, quality and the history of old pieces with charitable giving. The money raised will enable us to continue our sporting activities and community programmes for young people with and without disabilities.”
“Aste Bolaffi is honoured to take part in the event by placing its operational assistance and technical experience at the service of such an important cause,” comments Cristiano Collari, chair of Aste Bolaffi’s Vintage division.
