ON DECEMBER 5TH, THE INTERNET AUCTION OF SPORTS MEMORABILIA, INCLUDING PELÈ'S JERSEY AND COPPI’S TOUR DE FRANCE JERSEY

The Brazilian national team jersey worn by Pelè in 1971, Fausto Coppi's 1952 Tour de France jersey, and the gold medal won by the Milan player Giuseppe Sabadini in the final of the 1973 Cup Winners' Cup: these are just some of the most interesting lots in the live internet “Sports Memorabilia” auction organised by Aste Bolaffi, which will take place on its website (www.astebolaffi.it) on December 5th, at 3 pm. Following the success of past editions, a new catalogue with 365 lots is being offered to sports enthusiasts and collectors, especially of football and cycling: they range from incredible rarities to lots to fit all budgets, suitable for those who want to own something authentic and tangible of their champions.

The catalogue contains a fantastic selection of national and international team jerseys, including: the Brazilian national team jersey worn by Pelè in the friendly match between Brazil and Yugoslavia on July 18th, 1971, played at the Rio de Janeiro stadium, which was swapped with the opponent team at the end of the game (lot 216, estimated at 10,000-15,000 euros); that worn by Gaetano Scirea in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico (lot 179, estimated at 2,000-2,500 euros); the jersey worn by Gianpiero Marini when he played as a midfielder for Milan in the legendary 1982 “Mundial” in Spain (lot 181, estimated at 3,000-3,500 euros); Giampiero Boniperti’s number 8 jersey, which he often wore when playing for the national team (lot 190, estimated at 2,000-2,500 euros); and finally, a collection of jerseys used for the 1998 World Cup in France.

The collections of jerseys belonging to former football players Christian Riganò, Vittorio Pusceddu and above all Antonio Valentin Angelillo, are noteworthy, and include the new jersey worn by the latter as a member of the "Milan-Inter" team during the friendly match against Chelsea, held at San Siro on October 13th, 1965 (lot 164, estimated at 2,500-3,000 euros); among the great finals jerseys, there is the one worn by "Reds" player Gary Gillespie in the unforgettable 1983-84 European Champion Clubs' Cup final between Liverpool and Roma (lot 140, estimated at 1,500-2,000 euros), the jersey worn by Oleh Blochin's Dinamo Kiev in the 1974-75 Cup Winners' Cup final (lot 150, estimated at 3,000-3,500 euros), and the Juventus jersey worn by Luciano Spinosi in the return match of the Fairs Cup final against Leeds Utd (1-1), played in Leeds on June 3rd, 1971, and which he swapped with his opponent Mick Jones at the end of the match (lot 152, estimated at 7,500-10,000 euros).

Enriching the collection of football memorabilia, is a collection of 35 medals won by former Milan footballer Giuseppe Sabadini, including the gold medal given to the 1973 Cup Winners' Cup champions (lot 225, estimated at 6,000-8,000 euros).

Moving on to the cycling memorabilia, Fausto Coppi's yellow Tour de France jersey, from an impeccable source, is definitely worth mentioning, and it is also accompanied by two letters written by his mechanic Pinella de Grandi, and a postcard signed by the "Campionissimo"(lot 306, estimated at 20,000-25,000 euros), as is a series of lots from the collection belonging to Atos Pirovano, Felice Gimondi's personal masseur: four jerseys, a pair of shoes, a tracksuit and a signed photo (lots 310-317).

Finally, among the curiosities in the "other sports" section, there is a Michael Jordan baseball bat, with a handwritten signature (lot 339, estimated at 500-750 euros), representative of one of the unparalleled basketball champion’s not very successful period.
