FURNITURE, PAINTINGS, WORKS OF ART

Important auction characterized by great quality and unexceptionable origins. The first part of the catalogue is dedicated to oriental art with 150 lots made out of jade, ivory, coral and porcelain. The second session is dedicated to the western arts including two prestigious private collections, the one of a Roman gentleman with high-period furniture, and the collection of Giuseppe Clinanti of antique glass, composed of pieces of absolute rarity from the 16th to the 19th Century. As regards the paintings there are important pictures of the 17th and 18th Century, among which an unpublished canvas by a young Luca Giordano and a great mythological scene by Lorenzo Pasinelli. The 19th Century is represented by a large painting of museum quality by Antonio Zona, two rare oils by Giovanni Giani and a beautiful landscape by Lorenzo Viani. The sale ends with a series of objects of royal and papal provenance, and with an eclectic silver candlestick whose adventurous story will be disclosed to you in the Bolaffi saleroom.
