La selezione di sculture cinesi che siamo lieti di
presentare (lotti 257-321) è composta dalla collezione
di un imprenditore piemontese di origine ebraica, nato
all’inizio del Novecento. Sopravvissuto alla tragedia del
secondo conflitto mondiale che ne distrusse l’attività di
famiglia, nel dopoguerra ebbe la capacità e la forza di
ricostruire tutto dal principio.
Complici numerosi viaggi d’affari in Europa e in
Oriente, approfittò delle tappe nelle principali capitali
per visitare i più rinomati antiquari, sospinto da un
autentico interesse verso l’arte orientale. Conservate in
cassaforte per molti anni, ora gli eredi hanno deciso
di mettere in vendita queste splendide sculture, dando
la possibilità a nuovi collezionisti di vivere il fascino
suggestivo delle botteghe antiquarie del dopoguerra
come, all’epoca, aveva fatto il loro nonno.

Pomello intagliato a forma di
fiore. Montatura con filo e lamina
d’oro e piccole perle coltivate.
Una perlina è staccata, ma
conservata nella scatola.

The selection of Chinese sculptures that we are pleased
to present (lots 257-321) comes from the collection of
a Piedmontese entrepreneur of Jewish origin, born
in the early 1900s. He survived the tragedies of
WWII, that destroyed his family's business, and after
the war he found the capability and the strength to
rebuild everything from the ground up.
During his many business trips to Europe and Asia,
he took advantage of his stops in the major capitals
to visit the most famous antique dealers, driven by a
genuine interest in Asian art. After keeping them in
a safe for many years, his heirs have now decided to
sell these beautiful items, giving new collectors the
opportunity to experience the beauty of the antique
shops of the post-war period as long ago their
grandfather had done.

Knob carved in the shape of a
flower. Mounting with gold leaf
and wire and small cultivated
pearls.
One bead is detached, but is
kept in the box.
