DUE GRUPPI CON DIVINITÀ

Bronzo, uno raffigura Khandoba privo del suo cavallo, nella mano
destra una spada e in quella sinistra la sua minuscola consorte. L’altro
rappresenta una divinità seduta su piedistallo e attorniata da quattro
figure di fedeli.

TWO SETS WITH DEITIES

Bronze, one portrays Khandoba without his horse, with a sword in
his right hand and his tiny wife in his left one. The other represents a
divinity seated on a pedestal and surrounded by four faithful followers.

19 VISHNU E ATTENDENTE

Il toro, mitica cavalcatura di Shiva, è qui raffigurato in bronzo dorato sostenuta da quattro piedi, l’arco e la figura principale. Presenta al centro
accucciato su un plinto a sezione rettangolare. Sul retro è presente un Vishnu a quattro braccia, accompagnato in basso da un’altra divinità,
cilindro che forse serviva a reggere un bastoncino di inchiostro. probabilmente Garuda. L’arco è formato da Muchalinda, le cui sette
Altezza 8 cm teste di serpente proteggono il capo di Vishnu; sulla sommità doveva
comparire la testa di Kirtimukha, ora mancante.

crouching on a rectangular plinth. On the back is a cylinder that Southern India, 19th Century
perhaps was used to hold a stick of ink. Bronze with patina, the altar consists of three pieces, or the square

€ 200 Vishnu has four arms, accompanied below by another divinity, probably
Garuda. The arch is formed by Muchalinda, whose seven snake heads
protect the head of Vishnu. On the top there must have been the head
of Kirtinukha, which is now missing.
