Il vaso più grande è in grès ed è ricoperto da un’invetriatura céladon. Cina e sudest asiatico, XIV secolo e successivo
L’altro vasetto in terracotta rossa ha un’invetriatura marrone. Grès e terracotta invetriati. Ottimo stato.
Sulle spalle dei vasi globulari sono modellati occhi e becco da un lato, Altezza tra 4 e 7 cm
la coda dall’altro. Sul ventre sono invece impresse delle ali stilizzate in SIX TINY VASES GLAZED WITH CÉLADON
tratteggi. Il becco del vaso più grande è scheggiato, sull'orlo ci sono tre China and south-east Asia, 14th Century and later
crepe. A entrambi i vasi manca il coperchio. Glazed stoneware and earthenware. Excellent condition.

TWO OWL-SHAPED VASES
Cambodia, Bayon period, 12th-13th Century
The larger vase is in stoneware with a céladon glaze, the other is in
red earthenware and has a brown glaze. There are modelled eyes
and beak on one side of the shoulders of the vases, the tails on the
other side. On the belly of the larger vase stylised wings are incised. Its
beak is chipped and there are three cracks on the rim. Both vases are
missing their lids.
Height 3.27 and 1.57 in.
