GRANDE ICONOSTASI DA VIAGGIO
Russia, inizi del XIX secolo
Bella e non comune icona da viaggio ripartita in
15 tavole unite da cerniere, ciascuna sormontata
da cimasa in forma di elmo rappresentante cupole
di chiese. I cicli orizzontali raffigurano le festività
maggiori, la fascia in alto mostra i profeti dell’antico
testamento, mentre l’iconografia della tavola
centrale è incentrata sui quattro evangelisti, l’ultima
cena, la crocefissione e la discesa agli inferi.
Piccoli difetti e mancanze, qualche caduta di colore.

Beautiful and uncommon foldable icon divided
into 15 panels joined by hinges, the top in form
of helmet that represents the curches domes.
The horizontal cycles depicts the major holidays,
the upper band shows the prophets of the Old
Testament, while the iconography of the central
panel is centered on the four evangelists, the last
supper, the crucifixion and the descent into hell.
Small defects and loss of color.

ODIGHITREIA
Russia meridionale, metà del XIX secolo
Icona su legno con due porte laterali. Sulla
parte centrale la Madre di Dio che indica
la via, sulla porta sinistra San Nicola e San
Giorgio, sulla porta destra San Caralampo e in
basso San Demetrio di Tessalonica.
Discreto stato di conservazione, piccoli difetti,
qualche restauro.
