I difetti della pietra, le piccole maculature e la colorazione chiara, sono
messe in secondo piano grazie all’intaglio realizzato da una mano
esperta. Potrebbe trattarsi di una raffigurazione di Xiwangmu, la “Regina
madre dell’occidente”, con le pesche dell’immortalità attorno alla testa e
la fenice accanto a sé.

The defects of the stone, with small spots and light colouration, are of
secondary importance thanks to the fine workmanship, carved by skilful
hands. It may be a depiction of Xiwangmu, the “Queen Mother of the
West”, with the peaches of immortality around her head and a phoenix
beside her.
