Rinforzato sul bordo da un nastro argentato. Un piccolo anello fissato
alla banda e al corno che serviva per appenderlo alla cintura.

Reinforces on the edge with a silver band. A small ring fixed to the
band and to the horn was used to hang if from the belt.

COPERTA DI SELLA IN CLOISONNÉ
Cina, dinastia Qing, epoca Qianlong (1726-1795)
Ottone con cloisonné policromo, decorato con motivi che si sviluppano
in modo speculare dal foro centrale. Frutti bianchi e pipistrelli spiccano
tra foglie e nuvole, circondate da una fascia di leiwen (meandri) su
fondo blu scuro. La coperta di sella copriva il dorso di un elefante
prodotto a emaille o a cloisonné. Nel foro centrale era fissata la sella su
cui si ergeva un vaso in cloisonné.

A SADDLE PAD IN CLOISONNÉ
China, Qing dynasty, Qianlong reign period (1726-1795)
Brass with polychrome cloisonné, decorated with specular motifs that
expand outward from the central hole. White fruits and bats appear
among the leaves and clouds, surrounded by a band of leiwen
(meanders) over a dark blue background. The saddle pad was made
to cover the back of an elephant produced in emaille or cloisonné. The
saddle was fixed in the central hole on which a cloisonné vase stood.
